BALIFOKUS has trained 162 field facilitators in Kupang, East Nusa Tenggara. The participants of the training came from Bali and East Nusa Tenggara areas. The participants from the local staff government (Public Works Agency) also invited to the training. The training aimed to provide comprehension on the SLBM program. Moreover, it is addressed to prepare reliable field facilitators for the program practice. BALIFOKUS as the trainer of both the technical and social facilitators presented several subjects related to the community-based sanitation issues
The material of the training delivered several topics primarily about national regulation (clean water and environmental health) and the strategy of urban sanitation planning and practice in Indonesia. The additional material training such as guidance for technical field facilitators on the basics of the planning of wastewater building constructions and the other one is guidance for social field facilitators in order to define the process of community empowerment and the program implementation. These additional materials consist of significant items related to the program practice substance, the SLBM principles, the community selection methods, the preparation of community action plans, the simulation of program practice, and ICC (Inform Choice Catalog) subject. In particular, the ICC subject explains about the environmentally sound of wastewater installation and drainage construction.
